How to remove yourself from Mastodon
Mastodon is federated: your posts were copied to every server that followed you, and deletion cannot reliably remove those copies.
- Open Preferences → Account → Delete account on your home instance.
- Your instance sends deletion requests to federated servers — most honour them, some do not.
- Consider deleting posts individually first, which propagates the same way.
- Export your data and follows first if you plan to move instances.
