How to remove yourself from GEDmatch
GEDmatch lets you upload DNA from other services for matching — and is used by law enforcement for genetic genealogy investigations.
- Log in and open your dashboard.
- Click the pencil icon next to a DNA kit to edit or remove it.
- Remove each kit separately if you uploaded more than one.
- If you keep your kits, review the law-enforcement matching setting — opting out excludes your kit from law-enforcement comparisons.
- Note that relatives’ uploaded kits can still expose your genetic information, and you cannot control that.
